The Audi DataPlug is the basis for the use of the Audi connect Plug and Play app. The app offers a variety of information about the vehicle and journeys. The Audi connect Plug and Play app offers the following information, functions and input possibilities:
- vehicle data: mileage status/kilometre status, chassis number, service intervals
- tyres: input possibilities reference manufacturer, type of tyre, tyre mileage, date of manufacture and appointment date to change tyres
- log book: start, destination, time, time travelled, route, cost of fuel per journey, differentiation of routes (private, business, commuting to work)
- tank monitor: tank fuel level, time and location when refuelling, price of fuel, monthly and individual fuel costs
- driving style analysis: acceleration, speed, revolutions, braking characteristics, coolant temperature
- driving statics: miles/kilometres driven, time driving, litres tanked, fuel costs, night and day journeys, efficient driving style
- servicing and appointments: direct call, route guidance to Audi partner, appointment request for inspection, transfer of respective warnings and data to Audi Service partner
- breakdowns and emergencies: emergency functions, transfer of vehicle data and location, guidelines reference emergencies, display of warnings and warning lamps with explanations
- park location: last parking location, GPS coordinates, time parked
- challenges: points and trophies for efficient driving, visit Audi partner and use of app

Notes:
- Audi DataPlug is plugged into the onboard diagnose interface (OBD 2). With the app, the smartphone can then be connected via Bluetooth via the Audi DataPlug with the vehicle. This operation may only be carried out when the vehicle is stationary and when the engine is switched off and never when underway in the vehicle. The installation process is accompanied by appropriate instructions and notes. After successful Bluetooth pairing, the smartphone automatically connects to the Audi DataPlug when the ignition is switched on

- can be retrofitted to many models as of model year 2008
- the use of the smartphone while driving is not permitted
- registration and the provision of relevant personal data is required in order to be able to use all services in full
- the Audi connect Plug and Play app must be installed correctly and can be downloaded from the Google Play Store for Android devices and for iOS devices from the Apple App Store
- Bluetooth must be active on the smartphone
- the Bluetooth PIN of the Audi DataPlug, which is required for pairing, is located on the sticker on the packaging and on the Audi DataPlug
